How to do Enchanting Presentations

Posted by Steven Matheny on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, In : General Interest

Communication skills are essential for any successful project. I felt that this material would be useful for members in their efforts to secure funding for their projects. While digging the links up, it occurred to me that it should be a resource on the Inventor's Council site.  The ecorner.sanford.com has a lot of useful information.

The first link is to Guy's presentation at Stanford, it is the better presentation. A SlideRocket version of the presentation as given as SXSW is also provided w...

Edison Nation - Be sure to read the contract

Posted by Mark Stadnyk on Monday, June 13, 2011, In : General Interest
I believe that your email regarding the Edison Nation project is missing an important piece of information. They are not just seeking a "licensing agreement" with inventors. If you read the fine print you will discover that by submitting a product idea you are completely giving up the rights to your invention (Exhibit A, section 1A). That is far beyond a licensing agreement. I don't have a problem with granting an exclusive license to Edison Nation, but I certainly have a problem with handing...

Gutting of Inventor's Rights Imminent

Posted by A.R. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, In : News
Please bend the ear of anyone you know to prevent house's destruction of First To Invent.

There is no excuse for an organization having only one person on email.  I will take it upon myself to gather everyone's email who wants real notice at the next meeting.  I find calling 50 people a chore Major corporations have stopped advertising web sites.

Let me know so I can put it on facebook.  Which has been opened to another member.

This delay on the house bill is inexcusable.  We should be expan...

Gutting our Patent System

Posted by A.R. on Monday, March 14, 2011, In : News
Maybe you know someone who understands the mishmash of bills etc. in congress.  There is a bill that I think hasn't passed but maybe it has.  This amendment was defeated soundly.  This  amendment would have kept first to invent.

Suggestions for first page of web site which google sees better than other pages.

Keep our jobs, innovation here.  STOP congress from gutting our patent system.  Think we have the best manufacturing, legal system, education in the world?  Probably not.  We do have the be...

World of Inventors Postponed

Posted by David Woods on Monday, March 14, 2011, In : Events
The Wolrd of Inventors convention at Tampa Convention Center has been postponed indefinately.  Apparently there has not been sufficient activity on their website to warrant scheduling the event.  It has been explained to the organizer that they need to advertize in Inventor's Digest and provide more warning to our organizations to expect to be taken seriously.  They have not given up yet.  When they surface again let us give them the support they need.  Wouldn't it be nice to have a major inv...

World of Inventors, Investors, Expo - Tampa

Posted by David Woods on Monday, January 10, 2011, In : Events
There are rumors afoot of an expo at the Tampa Convention Center April 9-10 2011.  Invnetor booths are $285.  The expected attendence is about 6000.  It appears to be a real event but is in planning stages now.  Today I talked to the organizer who assured me this will be a good show which combines Inventors, Investors, and franchises.  This may just be the show to attend.  Their website is expected to be up in about a week.  I will keep you posted.  In the mean time here is their brochure....
